Polystyrene National Hives

Compatible with our poly National Hive parts and our wooden National Hive parts.
This means you could, for example, use your existing wooden supers on the top, or use poly supers on top of your existing wooden brood box.
Compatible with the different types of queen excluders (wire with wooden frame, slotted steel, plastic) and with the different crownboards (wooden, polycarbonate, glass).
Poly brood boxes and Supers can take frame runners or castellated spacers enabling you to customise your frame spacing, whether you use Hoffman style frames, Manley frames, standard frames with spacers, or castellated runners.
The only limitation is you cannot use a wooden roof on top of a Polystyrene Super or
Brood box.

These Polystyrene Hives are made from a very high density material
100g/litre - upto 3 times stronger than what is used for packaging.
Its lightweight and durable.
The insulation properties also makes it ideal as it means less bees are required to maintain the heat required for effective brood rearing and it also helps improve overwintering and
early Spring buildup.

Feeder

We have redesigned the feeder from the 'old style' The feeder has changed in 3 ways. It now has a clear cover over the central channel so that the bees don't 'come out at you' when you remove the lid. We have also narrowed the middle access slot so the bees don't build brace comb in it. Finally, we have made the middle dividers removable so the feeder is easier to clean when you have finished with it.

Hive holds 6 BS brood frames, for National and WBC hives, and comes complete with a
built in Feeder.
It has an open mesh floor to help with varroa control and to help with ventilation during transit. Comes with 4 feet to keep the hive off the ground, wooden float for the feeder, a disc entrance for easier control of the entrance and a clear coverboard for easy viewing without completely opening up the hive.

All orders over £200 are free delivery.

All deliveries are sent via Parcelforce 48 or Royal Mail standard parcels.

Full size hives will be sent via Parcelforce 48 @ £17.50 per hive.

Smaller items i.e single supers, roofs, feeders etc will be sent via Royal Mail standard parcels
@ £8.00 each, or if multiple items up to a weight of 30KG same as full hive £17.50.
